It was the fourth day on board.

Finally, we finally landed on Miyakojima! It's good to have a goal after all. (laughs) Whether we like it or not, we get excited. The boat trip is fun enough, but it's even more exciting to be on land.

Japanese passport holders gathered on board the ship at 10:00 a.m. and were able to disembark on Miyakojima before the other passengers.

The port of Miyakojima is not deep enough for a large passenger ship to anchor, so the ship anchored offshore. From there, passengers were transported to land using about three emergency evacuation boats that were installed on both sides of the ship. These emergency boats were sturdier than I expected, and each one could carry about 80 people. They looked like they could operate without any problems even in bad weather. And because they were red, they stood out on the sea!

It takes about 5 minutes to get to Miyakojima.

Can you see the cruise ship anchored in the distance?
It felt so good to be out on the boat.

We were craving Okinawan food, so we first went to Jinkuya, a restaurant recommended by locals. It's a restaurant that has been around for a long time and values "mother's cooking." It's a restaurant loved by locals. The restaurant was packed with customers.

In fact, these customers were crew members of Dream Cruise. They had a half-day off and came to have lunch! What an eye-opener. As expected!

I wonder what I should eat.

Left) Chili peppers in a fountain. They go great with soba noodles!
Right) Sanpin tea. A refreshing tea! Perfect for the heat.

Well, here it comes!

This is Miyako soba. It has a light flavor.

This is soki soba. It was rich and a little sweet. The meat was soft and the flavor was well-absorbed.

There it is: my favorite goya chanpuru!!

The thick slices of firm tofu and the juicy bitter melon were absolutely delicious.
I ordered it as a set!

good! !!

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch. The children were also very happy eating the soba noodles, and were very satisfied.

We didn't have much time left, so we had a wonderful encounter with a local taxi driver, and we decided to spend the day with him and have him show us places that tourists don't go to!

He was really kind and showed me around! The people of Miyakojima are very warm.

Upon receiving our request, they came up with the most efficient way to get around. First of all, we decided to go to a local market to buy food. Since you can bring vegetables into Hong Kong (no fruits allowed), we wanted to bring fresh vegetables home, so we went straight there with the housewife in mind!

The inside is designed like a typical roadside station, but the ingredients are fresh as expected! There are also many interesting products, so you'll find yourself putting more in your basket.

Bitter melon! I bought it immediately. It's cheap!

garlic.

The island's idol, Mamoru-kun, is also there!

Gentle tasting Miyako miso made with local salt.

Adjacent ice cream shop.

We had bitter melon fritters! Oh. I want to drink beer now. Haha. I just keep eating.

After buying a lot of things, we went to see an Awamori brewery! Miyakojima has no mountains, so the plains that can be seen are simply beautiful.

Sugarcane field. The harvest will be around next year.

I'm so excited. Lol

Now, we have arrived at the Taragawa sake brewery.

Inside, you can watch videos of the brewing process for free, and you can also sample the sake. There are also limited edition items that can only be purchased at the store!

Awamori is a shochu made from Thai rice.

At Taragawa, you can also tour the sake brewery by reservation.

The big pot is about one meter tall. The small ones are for customers' aged shochu. They will store your purchased shochu in the storehouse to age for a few years. Many customers use the storehouse on special occasions.

We were pretty drunk after tasting the beer. Feeling a bit better, we decided to drive to the beach. The beautiful ocean was amazing! There are no mountains, so the water doesn't flow in from the land, making the water incredibly clear.

There are no traffic lights on Miyako Island. The island's idol, Mamoru-kun, always stands at intersections, keeping a watchful eye. There were Mamoru-kun products at the market we visited earlier.

We entered a narrower and narrower road. Apparently this is a spectacular spot that only locals know about!

Below this greenery is a cliff. The footing was unstable so it was a bit scary.

There is coral under your feet.

And of course, we arrived at the beach!

The beach we were taken to was a very peaceful and beautiful beach.

However, there was a lot of trash washed up. Usually, places where tourists visit are cleaned up, but this place doesn't seem to be visited by many people, so it's left as it is. There were a lot of plastic bottles and other things. Tears.

The beach is full of shells and coral fragments.

The sea is dotted with large rocks, creating a truly fantastical landscape.

The children immediately started playing with whatever was nearby, surrounded by the sea breeze, gentle sunlight, and the sound of the calming waves. What a luxurious time it was.

The driver said that this beach doesn't have a name, but there is a lot of star sand on the beach, and we encountered tourists who came to collect star sand. It seems to be a star sand beach that is known only to those in the know.

The beautiful sunset is gradually setting. The wind is getting a little colder, and it's almost time to head back. I'm feeling a little sentimental.

Apparently, the area where the white waves are is shallow from the beach to where the white waves are, but from there it suddenly becomes tens of meters deep.

Magic Hour. Goodbye Miyakojima! I'll come again.

The driver was helpful!

There are various ways to get around Miyakojima.
Some people join Dream Cruise tours. Others rent a car and get around by themselves, or relax in Miyakojima's hot springs. There are different ways to enjoy the island. Japanese people can land a little earlier than other passengers, so at best they can move around freely from around 11am to around 6pm. Either way, there isn't much time, so it's a must to do some research beforehand!

When we arrived at the port, the cruise ship welcomed us with the words "I LOVE MIYAKO". We'll come again, Miyakojima!

Actually, I hadn't had dinner yet that day, but I decided to have a quick dinner on the ship and enjoy the evening entertainment. It was a singing and dancing social dance performance. The powerful dancers' flashy dancing blew away all the fatigue from the day. What a day. lol

Thank you for reading to the end.

The next one will be posted on June 23rd! Look forward to it!
