If you go shopping in Macau, you'll want to bring back some Portuguese souvenirs. I'd like to introduce a select shop that recently opened, which is very convenient and one of my favorites.
In Senado Square,M in M plaza Made in Macau " is a great place where you can find all the souvenirs from Macau and Portugal. Miscellaneous goods, cosmetics, tea, beauty tea, alcohol, sweets, and more! You can do your shopping even if you don't have much time.
My personal recommendations are coffee, tea, face masks, Portuguese canned goods, etc. I will be introducing them on my Instagram from time to time, so please take a look.

Now, we would like to introduce a special camellia selection to all Hong Kong LEI official LINE subscribers!
1. Why should you buy this?
2. What is the secret behind its popularity?
3. Tsubaki's thoughts
▶ ︎Canned sardines
1. Canned sardines are a familiar snack that goes well with alcohol and rice. In Macau, there are many cans from Portugal that have a European feel, making them a souvenir with an exotic atmosphere.
2. The canned goods are attractive because of their beautiful, colorful and unique packaging. Please compare the different cans and buy them based on the packaging. The sardines inside are also delicious. In addition to simple variations such as adding a little soy sauce, squeezing lemon or sprinkling pepper, we also recommend using them in pasta or rice dishes.
3. Canned sardines are also recommended as a snack to have while drinking in your room during your trip. They don't take up much space, but they are heavy, so be careful.
▶ ︎PortugalSoap
1. Soaps with a Portuguese atmosphere come in a variety of scents and will add moisture to your daily life.
2. The packaging is lovely, so you can even display it! It's recommended as a souvenir for fashionable people. Portugal is famous for its high-quality soaps, so be sure to find one you like.
3. Portuguese soap has a gorgeous fragrance that makes you feel happy every time you use it. It also looks great as interior decoration.
▶ ︎Portuguese Wine
1. Portuguese wine is hard to find in Japan, so it's rare and perfect as a souvenir. It's also delicious and good value for money. If you're a wine lover, be sure to give it a try.
2. A strong redOneIt is the most popular. In summer, we also recommend Vinho Verde, a refreshing young wine with a slight sparkling taste. Port wine, a dessert wine, is also delicious. There are no duties on Portuguese wine in Macau, so it is available at a reasonable price.
3. I also like Portuguese wine and drink it often. I choose vintage port wine as a souvenir for loved ones. Generally, the quality is high and there are many delicious ones, so please choose it when you are drinking in a Portuguese restaurant or in your room while traveling.
▶︎Organic coffee
1. Macau was formerly a Portuguese colony, so unlike Hong Kong, it has had a long history of coffee culture. Macau has delicious coffee, and local brands are confident in their blends. They are also highly regarded for using organic and fair trade beans.
2. In addition to being delicious and safe, the unique packaging featuring Macau-like designs of temples, shrines and cats is also appealing. The authentic single-cup coffee is perfect for your morning or afternoon coffee break.
3. Recently, many stylish and delicious Macau brand coffees have been released. Previously, they could only be purchased at hotel bakeries and cafes, but MinM is conveniently located and I'm happy that I can compare different brands before purchasing.
▶ ︎Dried fruits, dried plums
1. Macau, like Hong Kong, is famous for its dried fruits. Light and long-lasting, dried fruits are not only delicious, but also have a reputation for being good for beauty and health.
2. Among the dried fruits, the cutely packaged and popular Apricot (Tenyo) and Ginger (Son Goku) are must-sees. They are recommended as souvenirs, as well as snacks to enjoy on the go.
3. My family loves dried plums, so I always buy them to take home. While many dried fruits come in stylish packaging, the traditional, retro design of dried plums is appealing, and they are delicious, of course. I also buy them as a snack when I'm on a diet.
▶ ︎Phoenix roll
1. Houou-maki is a classic sweet. Its gentle sweetness makes it the perfect snack to go with tea. We recommend the plain (original flavor) version, which has crispy crepe dough and coconut. Seaweed rolls with meat are popular locally, but because they contain meat, they cannot be brought into Japan. Please be careful.
2. The sweet aroma of coconut and the crispy texture of the crepe dough are the key points. This sweet has a tropical feel to it, and is so light that you won't be able to stop eating it once you start. It goes well with coffee, black tea, and green tea.
3. It comes in a sturdy box, so it's also recommended as a gift. Please note that it is not individually wrapped (cookies are often individually wrapped).
▶ ︎Egg Roll
1. Egg rolls are also a classic snack. The rolled up crepe dough has a simple taste, not as buttery as the ones in Japan. They are often eaten as a snack or gift by locals.
2. Egg rolls are a sweet treat loved by people of all ages and genders for their mild egg flavor. The simple flavor seems to reflect the character of the people of Macau, and is comforting. They go well with coffee, black tea, and green tea.
3. Recently, there are many different flavors, such as chocolate, black sesame, and seaweed. Some stores offer tastings, so it's recommended to find your favorite (MinM does not offer tastings, but cookie specialty stores do).
▶ ︎Peanut candy
1. Koike Bakery, a popular cookie chain in Macau, started out as a mobile peanut candy vendor. It's the best at its origins. Please give it a try.
2. Koike Bakery offers demonstrations of how to make peanut candy and tastings in front of the store. Once you start eating, you won't be able to stop. It's a simple yet highly addictive snack. There are several types, such as hard and soft, coconut and sesame, so you can choose the one you like.
3. My family loves it and requests it every time. The packaging with the Macau World Heritage sites is also cute. The simple yet addictive taste is appealing.
▶ ︎Garo Goods
1. This chicken is a symbol of good luck that was introduced from Portugal. It is recommended to display it in your home or wear it as a lucky charm.
2. Souvenirs are not only memorable but also bring good luck, so you can give them to anyone and you'll want to buy one for yourself too.
3. Many of the items are small and not bulky, so they are perfect as souvenirs to give to everyone. The Portuguese-style, silly expressions are cute! I have some myself, and I've bought some for friends and family too.
▶︎Face pack
A.These unique postcard-shaped face masks are individually wrapped, making them perfect as souvenirs to hand out to friends and family.
2. It is popular because it depicts Macau's cityscape and street food, making it easy to convey the charm of Macau to your friends.
3. I bought this product because I wanted to support a brand made in Macau. I would like to use it in the morning and evening to relax and feel refreshed.
▶ ︎Azulejo goods
1. Azulejos are tiles that were introduced from Portugal. The ones at the City Hall are said to be the most beautiful in Macau. The elegant design is very stylish.
2. They are very popular because they use the real tile patterns on stationery, travel goods, coasters, trivets, and other miscellaneous goods. You can casually incorporate the memories of your trip to Macau into your daily life!
3. Azulejo patterned goods make you feel elegant, so they are especially recommended for women. They also make great souvenirs for yourself.O-MOONThis shop also sells azulejo patterned accessories, which are very cute.
I hope you have a great trip to Macau!
