The limited edition "Sugarcane Honeysuckle Lager," a collaboration between Hong Kong craft beer brand "Gibbon" and long-established sugarcane juice and herbal tea store "Gongli," is now on sale at pop-up stores and elsewhere.

"Gibbon" was founded in 2015 by three British people. They have always kept in mind the fusion of East and West, and have continued to create original beers that combine Western brewing techniques with Hong Kong-style flavors. This time, "Gibbon" collaborated with "Kongli", a long-established sugarcane juice and herbal tea store, to create "Gibbon Honeysuckle Lager: Sugarcane Honeysuckle Lager", a Western beer that incorporates the traditional "cool tea" (a general term for herbal teas using Chinese medicine to remove heat from the body) that is loved in Hong Kong.

Kori has been transformed into a pop-up store, where you can enjoy the retro decor accented by the trendy neon sign of Kito.

Gongli is one of the few stores in the Central district that has a 76-year history and still has its old look. Fresh sugarcane juice is made here every day using a traditional juicer that has been in operation for over 60 years, and no sugar is added to preserve the natural flavor. They also sell Chinese herbal tea and turtle jelly.

Beer made using a three-stage filtration brewing technique to ensure a refreshing and smooth taste. Premium sugarcane juice made using the traditional method of peeling, steaming and squeezing. And Ginkikuro, a cool tea made with honeysuckle and chrysanthemum as the main ingredients.
The combination of these three ingredients creates a rich and innovative flavour that is typical of Hong Kong, and it could only be achieved through the collaboration between Gui La and Gong Li, both of which are committed to craftsmanship and quality.

The 330ml can of Sugarcane Ginkiku Lager will be available at the Kori pop-up store, Circle K,OnlineDraft will be available at select restaurants and bars.

Starting in December, the chain will partner with hot pot restaurants Lau Haa Hot Pot (Causeway Bay), 12 Hotpot (Tsim Sha Tsui), and Grill & Booze (Tsun Wan) to offer a range of exciting menu items combining dishes made with seasonal ingredients with fragrant Sugarcane Ginkgo Lager and other Grill & Booze brand beers, so look forward to it!
