猫の口腔の健康問題- 【猫の歯周病】

多くの飼い主は猫の歯をこまめに磨かないため、猫の健康上の口腔問題が蔓延しています。 猫は、口の中に不快感があるかどうかを飼い主に伝える方法を知りません。そのため、最終的には歯周病につながります。通常の口腔内で歯は清潔で白く、歯茎は歯に滑らかに付着しています。 飼い主が猫の口に赤みやこびりついた歯石を見つけた場合は、歯周病になっている場合があります。

歯周病にかかる前に、猫は歯肉炎に苦しむでしょう。

歯肉炎の主な症状は、歯茎の赤みや腫れ、よだれ、口臭です。 重症の場合、猫は体重が減り始め、歯も減り始めます。 通常、唾液、バクテリア、食べ物の粒子が歯の周りに付着しています。 食べ物が歯の間に蓄積し、オーナーがそれを磨いたり取り除いたりしない場合、バクテリアを繁殖させ、悪臭を放ちます。 口臭が続き、飼い主が定期的に猫を口臭検査に連れて行かない場合は、オーナーが毎日プラークを払いのけるのを手伝ってください。プラークは歯石となり鉱物化します。 歯石は重く硬い物質であり、酸素が歯に接触するのを防ぎ、 歯の周りのバクテリアの性質を変え、炎症を引き起こし、 痛みとともに最終的には歯茎の炎症をも引き起こします。そのまま治療せずに放置すると、歯周病を発症します。 歯周病は歯垢によって引き起こされる歯の周りの感染症を指します。 歯は歯髄腔の血管から栄養素を受け取ります。歯周病は通常、歯が位置する場所を巣として発生します。

猫の歯周病を予防するために、飼い主は多くの対策を講じることができます。

１、専門の歯科検査とクリーニングのために専門の獣医にかかること。

２、ペットの口の状態に応じて検診に行く必要がありますが、一般的に言えば、12ヶ月ごとに歯専門のクリーニングのために獣医を訪れるのが良いでしょう。

プロの歯のクリーニングを行うとき、猫は全身麻酔下にある必要があります。 したがって、猫の健康のために、理想的なアプローチは自宅で毎日の歯科治療を行うことですので、自宅で定期的に歯のクリーニングとケアを行ってください。 猫用の歯ブラシと歯磨き粉があります。猫の歯ブラシを選ぶときは、猫の口にマッチする歯ブラシの形に注意してください。 歯磨き粉の場合、猫の人間には歯磨き粉を使用しないでください。歯磨き粉には発泡剤が含まれているため、過度の飲み込みには適していません。

３、歯拭きとすすぎ

一部の猫や、特に歯茎が柔らかい猫は、嫌がって歯を磨かせません。飼い主は、ぼろきれで歯をクリーニングを試すのが良いでしょう。 ブラシで磨くことができれば、歯の表面の歯垢を取り除くことができますが、クリーニングクロス（布）ではできません 。ただクリーニングクロスでは、歯の間の食べ物の粒子は取り除けませんので、ブラッシングの次に良い選択となります 。人間の歯磨きのようなブラシは日常の使用に適しています。

４、プラーク防止ジェル

プラーク防止ジェルのような製品は、猫の歯科治療の利便性には良いです。ほとんどの人にとって、猫の歯を毎日磨くのは難しい習慣かもしれません。歯垢防止ジェルは、歯垢が歯に付着するのを防ぐために、毎週（特に重度の歯肉炎の場合は毎日）綿棒で歯の外面に塗布できるワックス状の物質です。

4.ドライフード

味の濃いドライフードは、歯の表面の摩擦を助け、間接的に歯石を取り除き、歯茎の筋肉を鍛えることができます。ウェットフードは特に歯の中に隠れやすく、さまざまな口腔の問題を引き起こします。また、猫が米などの人間の食べ物を食べることはお勧めしません。ウェットフードと同様に、これらのフードは歯の間に隠れてしまう傾向があり、口腔の健康を助長しません。飼い主はペットのおやつを選ぶときに歯科用おやつも考慮することができます。毎日適切な歯で噛むと、歯垢と歯石を69％も大幅に減らすことができます。この効果を達成するために毎日歯科用スナックをむしゃむしゃ食べさせるのが良いでしょう！

5. 歯科用処方食品

今日市場に出回っている歯のための、歯科処方ダイエットは、歯垢を減らすのに役立つさまざまな技術を使用しています。 １つ目は、歯科用処方箋の餌は比較的粗く粉砕されており、サイズが大きいため、猫は飲み込む前に噛むのにより多くの時間を費やす必要があります。また、これらの穀物には繊維含有量が高いため、粗挽き食品を噛んでもつぶれず、歯垢を取り除きます。

[Cat’s periodontal disease]

Cat’s oral health problems are pervasive because many owners don’t brush their cats often enough.

The Cat does not know how to tell the owner if they have discomfort feeling in the mouth, so it eventually leads to periodontal disease.

In a normal oral cavity, the teeth are clean and white, and the gums are smoothly attached to the teeth. If the owner finds redness or heavy tartar in the Cat’s mouth, it may be periodontal disease.

Before suffering from periodontal disease, cats will suffer from gingivitis.

The main symptoms of gingivitis are red and swollen gums, drooling, and bad breath.  In severe cases, the Cat will be starting to lose weight and the teeth also.  Usually, there are saliva, bacteria, and food particles stuck around the teeth.  If food accumulates between the teeth, and the owner does not brush or remove it, it will grow bacteria and produce a foul odor.  If bad breath continues, and the owner does not take the Cat for oral examination regularly or help him brush off the plaque every day, the plaque will be mineralized into tartar.  Tartar is a severe substance, and It prevents oxygen from contacting the external teeth and changes the nature of the bacteria around the teeth, which in turn causes inflammation and pain and ultimately causes gum inflammation.  If left untreated, periodontal disease will develop.  Periodontal disease is caused by dental plaque and refers to infections around the teeth. Teeth do receive nutrients from blood vessels in the pulp cavity. Periodontal disease generally occurs in the nest where the tooth is located.

To prevent cats’ periodontal disease, owners can take many measures:

1. Go to a professional veterinarian for professional dental inspection and cleaning.
2. Generally speaking, according to the oral condition of the pet, it is necessary to go to the

veterinary clinic for professional teeth cleaning every 12 months.

When doing professional tooth cleaning, cats need to be under general anesthesia.

Therefore, for the Cat’s health, the ideal approach is to make daily dental care at home

regularly.

1.Do regular teeth cleaning and care at home.

2. Toothbrush and toothpaste for cats

When choosing a cat’s toothbrush, pay attention to whether the toothbrush’s shape matches the Cat’s mouth.  For toothpaste, do not use toothpaste for humans on cats. Because this toothpaste contains foaming agents, they are not suitable for excessive swallowing.

3.Tooth wipes and rinses

Some cats do not tolerate brushing their teeth, especially those with softer gums. The owner can try to clean their teeth with a rag.  These products can remove plaque on the surface of teeth, but cleaning cloths cannot remove food particles between teeth, but rags are the second-best choice for brushing teeth. Like human teeth brushing, these products are suitable for daily use.

4. Plaque prevention gel

Such products solve the problem of the convenience of cat dental care. For most people, brushing their Cat’s teeth every day may be a difficult habit.  Dental plaque prevention gel is a waxy substance that can be applied to the teeth outer surface with a cotton swab every week (even daily for particularly severe gingivitis) to prevent plaque from adhering to the teeth.

4- Dry food

Hard-tasting dry food can help the tooth surface’s friction, indirectly remove tartar, and exercise gum muscles; wet food is especially easy to hide in the teeth and then cause various oral problems. Also, it is not recommended that cats eat human food, such as rice. Like wet food, these foods tend to hide between teeth, which is not conducive to their oral health. Owners can also consider dental snacks when choosing pet snacks.  Chewing with proper teeth every day can significantly reduce plaque and tartar by as much as 69%. Munching dental snacks every day to achieve this effect.

5-. Dental prescription food

Dental prescription diets on the market today use a variety of techniques to help reduce dental plaque.  The first is that the food for dental prescriptions is relatively coarsely ground and large in size, which means that cats must spend more time chewing before swallowing them.  Moreover, these grains’ fiber content is high, so it will not be crushed when chewing coarsely ground food, thereby removing dental plaque.

How does the owner do a necessary inspection of the Cat’s teeth:
Look at the teeth surface (especially the back teeth), the inside of the teeth, and the tongue. The back teeth are usually the place where tartar accumulates the most. If the Cat’s dental calculus is too severe, the owner should take them to the veterinary clinic and ask a professional veterinarian to clean and polish their teeth. It will be more comfortable and more effective. Even if the Cat has no breath problem, the owner must regularly take them for a comprehensive dental check-up because some dental diseases are difficult for the owner to see.
